Affiliates and Networks
HKCBA has established networks throughout Canada and Hong Kong, and via Hong Kong to China and other parts of the world. These networks include key connections in the business communities and strong links with government officials.

With the help of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the The Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide was formed in November 2000. It is a unique network of 31 Hong Kong Business Associations (HKBA) in 23 countries with over 10,000 individual associates. HKCBA is a Founding Member of FHKBAW. HKCBA Montreal Section’s Mr. Maxwell Brotman is the Founding Chair of the Federation (from 2000 – 2002) and Mr. Barry Macdonald (of HKCBA Vancouver Section) is the current Chair.
The Federation aims to achieve synergy among the global network of HKBAs. It provides an effective base for member associations to network and exchange information, thereby, generating business opportunities. Every year, hundreds of HKCB delegates travel to Hong Kong and attend the Hong Kong Forum, in which delegates obtain the latest business intelligence about doing business with Hong Kong and China; explore business opportunities; find business partners and have fun! The Hong Kong Trade Development Council has been the “Mother Ship” of HKCBA. They have helped by providing programs and speakers, co-organizing trade missions, Hong Kong festivals and trade shows, seminars, and workshops. They have been sponsors, directors on the Board, and have provided office space and support staff. HKTDC initiated the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide and provided a liaison for HKCBA with the Federation for various activities such as the website and the Hong Kong Forum.
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office has provided strong support to the HKCBA since the early 1990s, when the HKETO office was first established in Canada. They have provided both speakers and supplies along with sponsorship of many programs and events delivered by HKCBA. They have also co-organized numerous activities. Staff of HKETO has served as directors on HKCBA’s Board since 1997.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is HKCBA's partner organization in Hong Kong. Our HKCBA has maintained close contacts with CCCHK since 1984. HKCBA members are welcome to attend all CCCHK events in Hong Kong at member prices. To review the CCCHK Calendar of upcoming events click here.
The Canadian Consulate in Hong Kong mission is to promote Canadian business, including investment, in Hong Kong and Macao, and to assist Canadian business to use these markets as gateways to business in China.
They are pleased to provide consular services to the many Canadian travellers who visit Hong Kong and Macao for business and pleasure each year and also to assist a resident Canadian community estimated to be close to 250,000 persons!
With such a large group of Canadians living in the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao the consular section has a very active passport and citizenship section. There may be times however, when Canadian citizens encounter a situation involving illness, legal or other difficult problems while in Hong Kong. They can often provide information or assistance and you will find a comprehensive listing below of the various services (and fees where relevant) offered by the consular section.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board is a Government-subvented body, with the primary responsibilities to market and promote Hong Kong as a destination worldwide, as well as to take initiatives to enhance the experiences of its visitors once they have arrived. The HKTB's mission is to maximise the social and economic contribution that tourism makes to the community of Hong Kong, and to consolidate Hong Kong's position as a unique, world class and most desired destination.
Cathay Pacific has been a very strong supporter of the HKCBA since the earliest years of the Association. Cathay Pacific’s contributions have included senior staff to serve as directors in the HKCBA Board, the regular donation of airline tickets as prizes at many HKCBA events, complimentary tickets for HKCBA staff to the Hong Kong Forum, and sponsorships.
